Jitka Teubalová (Ivančice u Brna, 1975) studied English language at the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University (Brno). Between 1998 and 2001 she lived in Buenos Aires, where she attended courses of photography, drawing and painting with teachers María Luz Seghezzo and Dina Cusnir. From 2001 to 2010 she lived in Prague where she worked as a freelance photographer and costume designer for theatre. In 2001 she attended a drawing workshop given by Michal Pěchouček. From 2003 to 2009 she studied Photography at the Institute of Creative Photography of the University of Silesia (ITF- Institut Tvůrčí Fotografie) in Opava, Czech Republic. In 2004 she attended a residency in Wroclaw, Poland, coordinated with German photographer Tina Bara, and supervised by Czech photographer Václav Jirásek. In 2009 she completed her thesis "The Mask and Disguise in Czech and Slovak Photography" under the direction of the main Czech theorist and historian of Photography Vladimir Birgus.


In 2010 she moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. She lives between Buenos Aires and Prague. Together with her partner, Julián Teubal, she runs chinovistudio; visual communication studio (www.chinovistudio.com and chinovifotoatelier.blogspot.com). She has exhibited her photographs in Argentina, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria and England. At the moment she is attending a course Archives and Activationes (Archivos y activaciones) in the Art platform Imaginary Project (Proyecto imaginario, Buenos Aires), she also writes short stories and is a member of the Choir (Coro del Faro, Buenos Aires). With Julián they have two daughters: Ema and Ludmila.
